Hannah donates her hair today!

Hannah has been waiting patiently for her hair to grow to 11 inches so she could donate her hair to Locks of Love. Today was the day. Beanie did the honors of cutting her hair. Measuring the 11 inches.

Cutting the ponytails.
She looks like a cute peacock.

All done. Hannah loves to have short hair so she doesn't have to brush it.

Some other young person will be able to have a beautiful head of hair, thanks to Hannah's donation.

Canning tomatoes

Sarah and Elisabeth are helping me out with tomato canning. It's a messy job, but they are doing great. Sometimes being silly helps the job go by faster.
Elisabeth is stirring spaghetti sauce.

Ten quarts were canned today.

Vermont mountains

This picture was taken this morning as the sun was rising over the mountains and shining through the morning fog. These pictures were taken on Tuesday afternoon. The clouds were beautiful.

The garden is producing very well this year. We haven't had to water it at all!!!
Four and a half gallons of dill pickles!
All the ingredients for a tossed salad
The girls were to pick a few carrots for supper. Must be they were real hungry for them. This is enough for a few meals. ( Elisabeth still had more to wash)

Rain, rain go away!!!!

We have had our fill of rain for the last few weeks. Otter Creek is moderately flooded and my sister had to be evacuated from her East Middlebury home due to a flash flood in her neighborhood. We are saturated!!!
